Polaris bridge simulator - Instructor station
GMDSS simulator
The GMDSS simulator provides training for all the essential communication equipment found aboard a vessel. Networked computers connect the instructor station with up to 15 student stations. All radio communications equipment required for sea areas A1 to A4 are included. To simulate search and rescue training, radar and ship's manoeuvring capabilities are standard. The equipment will enable students to obtain Restricted Operator Certificate (ROC) and General Operator Certificate (GOC). A total training package combines interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) with PC simulation. The basic requirements for GMDSS examination training can be acquired through a comprehensive CBT package.

The Capella GMDSS simulator is approved by Telenor Net, division Marine Radio to be fully compliant with the requirements of STCW-95, ITU and Solas and is being used in US Coast Guard approved courses.
DPS – Dynamic Positioning Simulator

The Dynamic Positioning Simulator (DPS) is based on KM's DPS product line, which was developed for applications demanding reliable, accurate and quality-controlled position and velocity. The system is well proven and has been adapted by professional marine and offshore users worldwide.
Engine Room Simulator
Kongsberg Maritime engine room simulator models have been developed in close co-operation with maritime research institutes around the world and are continually being refined. Our model library covers vessels from fast catamarans to VLCC's, with different engine and propulsion configurations.
Customer benefits:
- DNV and STCW'95 compliant
- The engine room may be represented by large-scale interactive mimic panels, operational panels/ consoles or monitor based local operational stations or any combination of these
- An unlimited number of desktop workstations can be connected
- Built-in evaluation system
Engine room simulators are available for a large range of: slow and medium speed diesel engine plants, combined engine plants, diesel electric propulsion plants, steam turbine propulsion plants, high speed engine plants and gas turbines.
Simulators / Liquid cargo handling simulator

Kongsberg Maritime liquid cargo handling simulator models are based on real ships. Different simulator configurations are available. The cargo control room may be represented by any combination of interactive mimic panels, operational panels, consoles and/or desk-top stations.
The CHS meets the requirements of STCW that states the requirements for planning and ensuring safe loading, care during the voyage and unloading of cargoes as well as maintaining seaworthiness of the ship regarding trim, stability and stress. All simulators are certified by DNV and comply with STCW for training purposes.
The instructor station includes facilities to build scenarios, debrief, evaluate and replay exercises. Debriefing equipment includes large screen projectors, on-line automatic evaluation system, log and colour printers. The evaluation system makes structured and objective student assessment possible.
The simulator is designed to meet the demands for basic training of cadets as well as advanced training of deck officers in the understanding and handling of the ships loading and discharging equipment.
VTS - Vessel traffic services simulator

The Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) simulator is based on KM's real VTS operator station - the VOC 5060. All of the important features of a real VTS system are simulated including radio, telephone and intercom systems in addition to radar and other display sensors. The simulator has u p to 16 VTS operator stations, radar and chart displays, VHF, telephone, AIS targets. The VTS exceeds relevant recommendations stated in IALA model courses V-103/1 and V-03/2.
Web enabled simulation

Kongsberg Maritime have developed simulator web solutions that allow students to run simulation exercises on their own PC, regardless of where they are. Simulators are available for:
- Navigation and ship handling
- Engine room
- Cargo handling
Customer benefits:
- Instructor-led simulation
- Stand-alone simulation
- Stand-alone with tracking
- An e-Coach, provides instantaneous feed-back and guidance to the students while running the simulation exercises
